8A – Solving The Problem

Opportunity : Data privacy. With increasing technological advances, our data privacy is more at risk. There is an opportunity to create software that detects when a system is being hacked. Product/Service : Because of the more significant technological advances, people want their information protected. The product is a software/program that can detect right away when privacy data is being hacked. For example, this software would protect your business’ finances, customers/workers’ personal information, etc. After a disruptance in the system is detected, steps are taken to protect and notify you of the situation. This product would be aimed toward bigger businesses or organizations that want better privacy/protection software. Although, we would create a smaller version of the program that can be implemented into your mobile devices (phones and computers). For people who don’t own a business but would still like to protect their personal information. It would protect personal banking inf...

7A – Testing the Hypothesis, Part 1

Opportunity : Data privacy has always been an issue, but with increasing technological advances, we are more at risk. There is an opportunity to create software that detects when a system is being hacked. The Who : Business or organizations that want better privacy/protection Softwares The What : technological advances cause data privacy to threaten businesses and people’s personal information increasingly. The Why : Because of the more significant technological advances, people want their information protected. Hypothesis : Testing the who : There are others who share this need. This opportunity could spread into the business of personal security software. Meaning, instead of creating a software that detects when a business’s system is being hacked, we could also create a mobile phone system that detects your phones, banking, and/or personal information is being hacked. Testing the what : the boundaries of this would include people not wanting to give us their personal information or ...

6A – Identifying Opportunities in Economic & Regulatory Trends

Economic Trends Problems: 1.  Financial Markets Control Oil, Gas, and Foods Prices a.  U.S. Economy and News explains that this is just one of the top six economic trends of today. b. Commodities traders set prices for oil, gas, and food. Foreign exchange traders determine the value of the dollar. Meaning, our gas and oil prices rise and fall, depending on investors! c. The prototypical customer is customers of oil, gas, and food. d. This opportunity is difficult to exploit, as is anything relating to the economy. People don’t believe they can have power over this issue. Why did you see the opportunity?  I saw this opportunity as a consumer of oil, gas, and food. I see gas prices rising and falling. To see data like this, it makes me question the markets. I believe any consumer would. ----------- 2.  Climate Change Is Causing More Natural Disasters. a. I found this information over all different media platforms. All the current wildfires on the news are ...

4A – Forming An Opportunity Belief

1. A problem that I have found that posses a chance for an opportunity would be when you lose your spoon inside your bowl of soup. The opportunity is to create a type of spoon that has a hook shape at the end of it. Meaning when you put down the spoon, you can hook it to the outside of the bowl, so it doesn’t fall down into the soup. 2. The unmet need for this problem is the constant struggle of letting go of your spoon for a second, and the next thing you know is that your spoon is lost at the bottom of your soup or another food item (ramen). This means you are forced to take your hand, sticking it inside your soup to find the spoon. The people that have this need are consumers of soup or even college students who occasionally eat ramen for dinner. This need has always existed, but it is just a common problem that people wouldn’t think to take this as an opportunity for a product. To my knowledge, there is no solution, at the moment, to meet this need now. People just have to deal wi...

3A – Your Entrepreneurship Story

Image
The first time I exposed myself to entrepreneurship was my later years of elementary school. From a young age, I was a go-getter. Around 4th or 5th grade, my friend and I came together to start our own business. We went to Michaels’s craft store and purchased, with a loan from our parents, a diversity of colored feathers, hair barrettes, and a hot glue gun. Back at home, we created our product: Feather Hair Barrettes. After we had made our products, we made a list of prices for each different styled barrette. Placing everything into a portable cart, we walked around my neighborhood, from house to house, selling our product. After making a profit, we paid back my parents for the loan and donated our profits to the Humane Society! (Also I only think we made a profit because people felt bad for us...looking back now the barrette were not that stylish, and no adult would want to wear them.) I enrolled in ENT 3003 to learn more about what it means to be an entrepreneur. In this class, ...

Assignment 2A – Bug List

Assignment 2A – Bug List  1. When I’m brushing my teeth in my communal style dorm, and I knock my toothbrush on something, to which it either falls on the gross floor or in the disgusting sink.           Why does this bug exist? This bug exists because the bathrooms in the communal style bathrooms are not exactly the cleanest of places, and the thought of putting the dirty toothbrush back into the mouth is beyond disgusting.    2. When I have to make dinner and have to carry everything with me down the hall to the kitchen. But then, of course, I forgot something, so I have to go back to my room...then 5 minutes later I realized I forgot something again.           Why does this bug exist? This problem exists because I’m not in the comfort of my own home, and I can’t think of everything I need until I actually need it. I have to carry everything in a container to the kitchen that is down the hall. This action on...
