8A – Solving The Problem

Opportunity: Data privacy. With increasing technological advances, our data privacy is more at risk. There is an opportunity to create software that detects when a system is being hacked.

Product/Service: Because of the more significant technological advances, people want their information protected. The product is a software/program that can detect right away when privacy data is being hacked. For example, this software would protect your business’ finances, customers/workers’ personal information, etc. After a disruptance in the system is detected, steps are taken to protect and notify you of the situation. This product would be aimed toward bigger businesses or organizations that want better privacy/protection software. Although, we would create a smaller version of the program that can be implemented into your mobile devices (phones and computers). For people who don’t own a business but would still like to protect their personal information. It would protect personal banking information, private social security information, and more.

    Savannah,
    Initially, I was actually surprised that this is an opportunity since I have heard of software’s like Norton and LifeLock. After reading your product/ service I see that the opportunity is there because of the notification received quickly after the detection. I do believe that we have the technology to make such software that could also be used on our smartphones, especially since basically everyone has a smartphone these days.

    Hello Savannah,

    I think that this product would do extremely well in the market. There is so much personal information that can easily be hacked. I look at information such as personal addresses, phone numbers, and passwords that should never be released to the public. While I have never had my information stolen, it is scary to know just how easy it is for someone to hack.

1. From the first assignment, the bu lists, we have learned so much. The bug list was an excellent assignment to start the course. I allowed me to get into the headspace as a business person. 26A – Celebrating Failure

A time this past semester that I failed was when I was doing laundry. And I know what your thinking, but your wrong, I know how to do my own laundry. Unfortunately, I just made the wrong decision on my part. I had a shirt that was relatively old and pink. I was doing a whitewash, and I thought, 'ya know I don't think it will run; its been in the wash too many times to do that.' But thirty minutes later I found out I was wrong and it bled all my other clothes in the wash with it. From this experience, I learned from it, and what I learned was to don't take a chance just to do another load. And from this story, I hope you all learn from my mistake. Failure is critical in life. 28A – Your Exit Strategy

1. I intend to grow my business to all that it is worth, and if an opportunity comes for me to sell, then, of course, I will take that opportunity, but my main goal would be to run this business to the end. My existing strategy will be when I retire and hopefully pass on the business through my family. 2. I choose this to be my exit strategy because I want to grow and run the business to my full potential and then pass it on through my family to keep it in the family name. 3. I think this decision relates to my human capital and personal goals. I personally would like to take the business that I grew from the ground up as far as I could and, in the end, look at my progress. From there, my family can do what they think there’s exit strategy is best for this. What I mean by this is if they decide to sell it or grow it till they retire also. It has influenced my growth intentions and how I plan to use my resources.
