14A – Halfway Reflection

Tenaciousness is a competency.

The behaviors that I have used to keep up with the requirements of this course are to always work ahead. Staying organized is definitely a key component to being successful in this course. Also being creative. Think outside the box on issues and finding a way to solve them, with long-term and short term solutions.

Tenaciousness is also about attitude.

A moment in this class when I felt like giving up was when I would struggle to come up with a solution to the problem, I am trying to solve for consumers. What pulled me through was the idea that no idea is stupid. You just grow and develop it over time until it becomes the ultimate final product. I do that I have developed a tenacious attitude during the past two months from this course. The experience that contributes to the growth of my tenacious attitude would be my ability to take hold of my assignments and organize them to which I could work ahead.

Three tips.

fostering the skills that support tenacity
1. Complete your assignments ahead of time.

developing the 'tenacious mindset.'

2. Organize your assignments out by making your own "schedule of assignments" with the dues date.

3. Write notes while watching lectures to refer back too before taking your CupCakes.

  1. Savannah,
I agree with each of your tips and I actually do them all myself as well! I too have found that it is important to be organized and work ahead as much as possible. To do this, I decided to purchase a paper planner - and it has been life changing for me. Typically, I use my email calendar, but now I will never go back.
    Sincerely,
    Victoria May

  2. Savannah,
I agree that working ahead in this course is one of the main ways to keep yourself on track. Whenever I finish an assignment days before the due date, I eliminate that stress of getting them done fast because I have to. I have realized that sometimes, though, taking notes on the lectures isn't enough to get me 100% on the cupcakes. Now I just watch them and then take the quiz as soon as possible after so I don't forget anything.

  3. Hi Savannah,
I really enjoyed reading your post. I completely agree that you should stay organized and stay ahead of the assignments for this course. There are multiple assignments due at once so it would be impossible for a student to thoroughly complete all of them right before the due date. I also agree that notes should be taken while watching the lectures in order to avoid missing any important information.

  4. Hello, great post! I would have to say that I agree with everything you pointed out about this course. It is important to work ahead in order to stay on top of the work load in this course. More so, I found the tips you provided to be very accurate. It is important to stay organized, and focused in order to succeed. Overall, great job!

  5. Hey Savannah,

I totally agree with the working ahead. I find it so hard to keep up with 12PM deadlines considering all of my other classes have 11:59PM deadlines. If I do not set a million alarms for the morning of the due dates or complete them the night before, I miss out on completing them. I also agree with your insight on being organized; there is so much going on in this class between lectures, blog posts, and quizzes, so it is extremely important!
